Is this really "Goodbye" for Nursing?

Well, I'm just recently employed by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (also known as PhilHealth), as one of their Customer Assistance, Relations and Empowerment Staff (CARES). The decision to apply has put me in a lot of thinking, and this thinking has given me enlightenment on what I really want to be as a person.

This question has been lingering in my mind since yesterday. Yesterday is a huge part of our country's history. A day where the wrong person was proven guilty, and those who are guilty had their hands clean.

Throw, throw, throw, everywhere!

As I was going home yesterday, I saw a lady drinking her "palamig" (beverage) from a plastic bag while walking, and as she  finishes her drink, she dropped the plastic bag with a straw in it on the road like no one's watching her. And, as expected, people didn't even care. Well for me, I think that I don't have the right to reprimand the lady, as I am not one in authority.

On Traffic Rules and Public Safety

Well, yesterday, as I was going home, I rode this jeepney (I'm not hellafa rich person to have a car), and as we came past the traffic light, we were stopped by a traffic enforcer. Here's the conversation:

Enforcer: Boss, nasan yung lisensya mo. (Boss, where is your license?)

Driver: Boss, wala naman po akong ginawa. (Boss, I didn't even do anything wrong.)

Wondering on what the violation is, I tried to listen to other passenger's comments and heard: "May sumasakay kasi, tapos biglang nag-GO yung traffic light, hindi umabante yung driver. (There is a passenger trying to ride the jeepney. When the traffic light signaled "Go", the driver did not accelerate.) Upon hearing this, I heard the driver say. "Boss, sumasakay kasi, naglalakad yung pasahero, alangan namang mag-full-speed ako, edi nadisgrasya yung pasahero." (Boss, there is a passenger riding the jeepney. I can't even accelerate, it might harm the passenger.)

About Health and Health Insurance

Nowadays, we are not even sure of our fate, especially our health. Even doctors, who are supposed to heal the sick, are even afflicted by illnesses. People who bombard their systems with very high doses of ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) and zinc even suffer from illnesses which they do not even expect. No matter how clean you are in your environment or with your body, you are still uncertain. These bacteria and viruses can strike anytime, and we are not even aware that we are the target.
