Get a ROOM!

I have told all of you readers before that I am a nurse.

Well, I've studied 4 years working hard, sharpening my knowledge, and developing my skills in order for me to become the best nurse that I can be. I have handled and cared for human lives - things that we are really really willing to care for. Every second of our lives, fear has been striking our minds and hearts, as these lives that we care for may be lost at any second, even with the highest possible care we can give. And when someone does pass away in our hands, the guilt of not being able to make that patient live longer may stay long - or even forever in our memories.

Tips on Taking The Licensure Examinations

I have heard that tomorrow, some nursing graduates will test their knowledge, skills, and attitude in order to become registered nurses, as well as to get a license for themselves. This examination is one that I took, and fortunately, passed it, and got a pretty decent scores. All the long months of studying, staying late, and eating (yeah. Cheat on the Exams! (Top Test-taking Stategies any Testtaker Should Have)

Cheat on the exams!

First and foremost, I would like to tell you, that if you're looking for leakage on the NLE or any examinations, it just seems impossible. It has happened once, but will definitely not happen again.  :)

So, what's with the white uniform?

Bakit hindi mo na lang kasi ako pinag-accountancy, edi sana, may maayos na akong trabaho ka-graduate ko.(Why didn't you have me take Accountancy instead, as I might have a stable job right after I graduate.)

This one is a statement that I told my mother as I have reached my third year in college. I was struck by anger with the realization that the green pasture promised for nurses is now a fantasy. Jobless nurses, my sister still a volunteer (at that time), volunteer nurses, the so called "nurse trainees" (who pay hospitals to give them work experience), and those who are forced to work as call center agents - these ideas have enlightened me that we are oversupplied, and the previously open-doors of other countries have closed as well.

Is this really "Goodbye" for Nursing?

I have told you that I've just gained employment, right?

Well, I'm just recently employed by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (also known as PhilHealth), as one of their Customer Assistance, Relations and Empowerment Staff (CARES). The decision to apply has put me in a lot of thinking, and this thinking has given me enlightenment on what I really want to be as a person.
