Sannga ba ang punta natin?

Well I had a very lengthy discussion with a very good friend, and this time, the topic is about "heaven and hell", which, I guess is a quite heavy topic for a casual conversation.

Paniwala nya kasi, there is no heaven, hell, or purgatory, while I think otherwise. He believes that we are placed here on earth and it is here where we should make our own heaven, doing what Jesus has made while He is here on earth, and we should all strive to live a good Christian life. That way, our stay here on earth becomes heaven.

Stay, or Go Away?

Kanina, kausap ko ng masinsinan ang kasama kong Christian galing sa ibang denomination when it comes to faith and Christianity. Tinanong ko sya ng isang tanong na matagal ko nang gustong tanungin, isang tanong na bumubulabog sa sarili ko bilang isang Kristiyano.

"Kung hindi ko na nararamdamang lumalalim ang paniniwala ko sa denomination ko ngayon, anong advice mo, lumipat ako ng ibang denomination, o mag-stay na lang akong ganito?"

On Self-flagellation and Penance

"Eh kung i-donate na lang nila yung dugong gusto nilang ipalabas - sa Red Cross, edi naka-dugtong pa sila ng buhay."

Aware naman tayong lahat na nag-ce-celebrate tayo ng Holy Week ngayong linggong 'to. And as a devout Catholic, busy ako sa pagse-serve sa simbahan, spending everyday in service of the Lord. Sa palagay ko, this is my way of penance - we are given free time to relax and reminisce, but I spend it on the church while others go to the beach and do travelling. It's been going for 7 years now, and hey, sulit din naman ang pagod!

Me and My Commitment

"To see it so believe."

The one above is a very famous cliche that most of us might've heard. We always hear this when they do magic, when we have study science, and most specially, when we talk about religion. To see is to believe.

Scientists have long debated the existence of one "Supreme Being". Some proves the existence wrong by experimentation, through theories, and by merely looking for flaws in the Bible just to prove that the "Supreme Being" is just a fictitious character. He is not real, these people say.
