Under pressure.

My life has been full of pressure. I have done whatever others tell me to do, and I always lived according to other people's expectations, and those expectations, are usually high.

I have always thought of giving up on these pressures in life. I'm like, "No, thanks.. But I still can live without all your pressures." I can become whoever I wanted to be. I want to be as ordinary as others. I wanted to go to "jamming places", to late night parties, to anywhere everyone goes to enjoy their lives. There are times where I wanted to just disappear, where I felt that I'm going to burst if these did not stop. However, I'm too weak to give up those expectations.

My college course, the university I'm going to attend to, the places I'm going to visit, the time I'm going home. They are all controlled. My grades, they need to meet others' expectations. They just need to.

As soon as I had my first steps in pre-school, though unaware, my life is already full of pressure. There was a time where I was chosen to participate in a spelling contest. I was feverish then, but still, I was put in a situation where there were several book indexes in my table, and was asked to memorize them all.

I do not blame the people putting a lot of pressure on my life. Though being subject to pressure is very hard, I think that these pressures are for a very good future. I passed the course with flying colors, I got the board exams, and I have landed a very good job now. Those pressures came in handy in my life, eh?

And oh, remember that when carbon is subjected to very high pressure, diamonds are produced.

There was a time during my College years when I felt the same way. I felt I was being controlled by other people. There are lots of expectations to the point of getting discouraged because I wasn't able to meet their expectations. But now, I believed I have changed. I'm still the same caring person but I don't let the expectations of other people rule my actions..One message I would like to leave you. Just do the best you can (in any aspect) without the pressure or expectations imposed by other people or you will end by miserable.

Pressure will always be there and its how you manage pressure that matters. People do have set expectations just because they know we are meant for big things and by just trying to meet them, even if you fail, you're still on higher ground.

Well, you do appreciate those pressures on everything you do for your want to be as "precious as the diamond". That's a very good outlook in life. No one could attain his ambitions in life without passing through the "refiner's fire" in order to be processed as "gold". I appreciate your attitude. More power!

Pressure will always be there, whether we hide from it or face it fair and square. Still, I think we should not live according to other people's expectations all of the time. It's our lives we should live, not theirs. Take it easy on yourself.

Treat those "pressures" as challenges shrug it off and learn from it.

A sufficient amount of pressure can be helpful in our lives. But let us not forget to also give ourselves a break every once in a while. :)

It may seem like pressure now but when you reach a certain age you realize that these pressures protected us and saved us from making the same mistakes made by our elders. When I was younger, I thought all this control was killing my social life...but now, I am thankful because without it, I probably would not have finished college and have the comfortable life I have now.

Pressure is part and parcel of civilization. Even Jesus was pressured to meet the expectation of God the Father at the Garden of Gethsemane. But I'm not about to deliver a sermon here, hehe.

Love the last line. Wonder when I become one. It's getting too long in coming. ;)

Hence, pressure is not bad at all, isn't it? But then people tend to get rebellious when prompted with it. I guess it must go hand in hand with good upbringing.

One of the reason why they pressure you, because they know you can handle it.

There's a difference when you pressure yourself to excel and when people around do the same thing. I find myself in this situation all the time, like anything I do doesn't meet the standards of people around me. I 'fight' it by doing the things that make me happy, without putting myself in danger of course :3

I put a lot of pressure on my eldest son only because i know he can do it. He is a "straight A's" student and i don't want him to just study and passed the school year. I him to be on the top of his class.

Pressure's really just a nice yet firm push to unlock our potentials.. :) We might feel stressed initially, but in the end when dealt with the right way, it can take us leaps ahead.. :) Anyway, great job! Love that sentence at the end! ;)

I hear you. I was pressured when I was still studying. But in the end I can say that it did good to me. I thought maybe if i didn't follow what was told to me I wouldn't achieve what I have now.
